At St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester, we are seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team.
This role will involve working under the supervision of the Facility Services Director and/or their designee, with primary responsibilities including maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by monitoring individuals entering the clinic and controlling access to sensitive areas.
The ideal candidate will be able to assist management in enforcing safety regulations, remain aware of building exits and evacuation routes, and maintain a sign-in roster at the front desk for all visitors.
In addition to these duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular building and grounds surveillance to detect and report any safety violations, monitoring and documenting patient loitering within a four-block radius, and conducting periodic and random fire drills.
To succeed in this role, applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Prior experience in security operations, particularly in settings involving mental illness and substance abuse disorders, is preferred.
