Description

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Stabilis Solutions retains the right to modify or change the duties or essential functions of the job at any time.

  • Conducts daily plant operations, monitoring systems from the control room and performs inspections of the plant facilities.
  • Coordinates LNG truck loading.
  • Assists with planning and performing plant maintenance activities
  • Maintains and services cryogenic pumping systems, mechanical piping, valves, and pressure relief systems.
  • Ensures all company and customer safety and environmental procedures are followed.
  • Completes systems and facility operations training and certification sessions as assigned.
  • Completes job site specific training as needed.
  • Ability to identify components on a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and locate the items at the plant.
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend service and owner manuals, written standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other company documentation.
  • Ability to take direction from plant supervisor, off-site engineers and technical support staff to successfully troubleshoot problems.
  • Follows system commissioning activities and conducts periodic monitoring and inspection of systems.
  • Ability to respond to emergency shutdowns as required.
  • Monitors LNG systems in an outdoor environment, sometimes in adverse weather.
  • Maintains safe and compliant work practices.

Requirements

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • 2-3 years experience working and performing maintenance in a petroleum or chemical plant environment; LNG and / or cryogenic plant experience a plus.
  • Experience handling gas cylinders and pressure regulators a plus.
  • Must have good basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic theory and application and be able to learn and use manuals and other resources to apply that knowledge in the requirements of the job.
  • Experience with cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and / or steam preferred.
  • High level of comfort in safely working on live equipment.
  • Ability to perform work without supervision and to think clearly under unexpected circumstances.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex systems.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office software, and the ability to make simple mathematical computations.
  • Must be able to monitor systems via computer screens.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Stabilis employees, and customers.
  • Ability to read ladder type electrical schematics and loop diagrams.
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend service manuals, owner's manuals, written procedures and other company documentation.
  • Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment (i.e., safety toe boots, hard hat, flame retardant clothing, ear / eye protection, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and occupational medical exam, along with a background check.
  • Ability to obtain Texas Railroad Commission certificate within 30 days (training assistance will be provided).

  • Vacuum and / or Refrigeration Systems
  • Pressure Relief Valves
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT :

  • Activities involve standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting and carrying, transferring objects, reaching, pushing and pulling. May need to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Control Room and Field Environment : The majority of the work is performed inside the control room in a comfortable environment. However, the need to perform work outside is also necessary where the climate and / or temperature may be uncomfortable.
  • Work schedules vary and are typically 12-hour shifts 24 / 7. Schedules rotate so operators work some weekends and some nights.
  • Office equipment will be used including copiers / printers, telephones, keyboards and computers. Skills and activities require fine motor dexterity, good vision, good hearing and clear speaking.

    WORK SCHEDULE :

    The Plant Operator position is a full-time position with extended work hours (12-hour days) as well as some weekend work. 7 Days on, 7 Days off; alternating day and night shifts (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am).

    35.00 - $38.00 per hour
