Job Overview
Stableway Counseling Services is an established and dynamic practice that is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families in our community. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychotherapist to join our dedicated team at our McHenry location. The ideal candidate will have independent licensure and experience working with children and families to address emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. This role requires an understanding of family dynamics, mental health issues, and effective therapeutic techniques to foster healing and growth within families. Opportunities to see adult clients are also available, but experience providing therapy services to children is required. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and family therapy sessions to assess and address emotional and psychological needs.
- Assess and diagnose emotional and behavioral disorders using evidence-based techniques.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in a timely manner and in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with parents, schools, and other professionals to support the child’s well-being.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and have the desire to join a collaborative team with the capability to also work independently.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- Independent licensure in IL (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and family dynamics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from various backgrounds are crucial for success in this role.
