THE POSITION:
At STACK, the Manager, Network Engineering will lead a team of Network Engineers and Network Architects responsible for planning, deploying, and maintaining complex data center networks to support portfolio growth and operations. The position requires expertise in delivering highly available, secure, and scalable network solutions.
The position works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This role requires a strong technical background, as well as excellent informal leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Manage network infrastructure delivery in new data center construction and existing facility upgrades, understanding dependencies and accounting for complexity relative to scope/schedule and budgets
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive network strategies to support the organization’s goals, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency
Oversee the design, implementation and operations of data center network solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability
Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and partners to deliver outcomes across the organization, ensuring a shared understanding of progress and performance
Develop partnerships with vendors and distributors and identify opportunities to improve purchasing and delivery timelines
On-call availability may be required to respond to emergency situations

THE DETAILS:
Location: Any STACK location
Travel: Domestic travel up to 10%
Compensation: 150,000 – 180,000 bonus
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must pass comprehensive background screening

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a team and projects responsible for data center network engineering
- Experience with varying scenarios of data center network construction, infrastructure builds, and network augmentations
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to network infrastructure, including hardware, routing, switching, and security
- Ability to inspire confidence in executive leaders and motivate team members
- Experience leading through ambiguity; proven track record of implementing solutions that improve delivery
- Excellent communication skills including high-quality written communications and the ability to articulate complex information in a simple way
- Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to partner across teams
