SUMMARY
Working under direction from Maintenance Supervisor, perform a wide variety of preventative and repair maintenance to heat treat furnace equipment and facility. Assist with equipment installation. Requires background with equipment troubleshooting, rigging, welding and fabrication. Knowledge of basic electrical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Installation, preventative and repair maintenance to both equipment and facility
Exhibit thorough knowledge and ability to perform equipment troubleshooting, welding and fabrication
Basic electrical required
Familiar with proper use/operation of various hand and power tools
Interpret and use drawings/blueprints
Recommend and access spare parts inventories
Attendance is a critical component of position: punctual, regular and predictable
Use of 5S methods to keep work area and shop neat, clean and efficiently organized
Strict adherence to safety procedures
Education and/or Experience
Minimum two (2) years related experience or combination of formal training/experience. Vocation or Military training a plus.
Language Skills
English. Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift certification required and can be provided by Stack Metallurgical Services, Inc. LME desirable.
Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat and work in high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Familiar with proper use/operation of various hand and power tools
Basic electrical knowledge required – Low Voltage, DC to 120 AC
