We are looking for a skilled and hardworking Equipment Operator to join our team and help prepare vacant lots for new home installations.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate excavation equipment, including skid-steers, excavators, and backhoes, to prepare vacant lots for new manufactured home placements.
- Perform grading, trenching, and leveling to ensure proper site preparation.
- Dig and install water, sewer, and electrical service lines as needed.
- Conduct foundation and pad preparation, ensuring sites meet specifications for new home installations.
- Utilize hand tools and assist with manual labor tasks such as shoveling, compacting, and site cleanup.
- Remove debris, tree roots, and other obstructions to clear lots for development.
- Repair and maintain roadways, including pothole filling and surface grading.
- Work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain and clean equipment and tools to ensure efficiency and longevity.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all company guidelines for excavation and construction work.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating excavation equipment (skid-steers, excavators, and backhoes) is required.
- Basic construction and site preparation experience.
- Ability to read site plans and grade specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and physical environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Experience with underground utilities and septic system installation is a plus.
