Position: Long-Term Substitute - Visual Arts Teacher Location: Stacy Middle School Schedule:2024-2025 School Year To Start: March 2025 Qualifications: MA Department of Education Teacher License - Certified Grades 1-12 as Visual Arts Instructor; Highly Qualified Status in Subject Area Requirements: ●Expertise of MA Arts Curriculum Frameworks ●Possess strong studio skills in drawing, ceramics and decorative arts ●Presentation portfolios of individual and student work required ●Ability and willingness to develop art gallery displays throughout the building ●Experience in relating to Middle School students ●Ability to excite, ignite and inspire middle school students with high-interest, engaging, real-world projects ●Ability to incorporate a variety of learning activities/experiences to inspire, motivate and challenge our middle-level students ●An innovative art educator skilled at interdisciplinary planning with content teachers that results in student/peer collaboration and real-world problem-solving in the classroom ●A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture ●A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community ●Respect for diversity Strong classroom management skills and ability to use positive support within the classroom setting
