POSITION SUMMARY
Manage proposal efforts from pre-positioning through interview on major national pursuits ($25M to $1B) for public infrastructure projects, including overseeing administrative tasks, collaboration with SMEs, content development and editing, collaboration with graphic designers, overseeing compliance related tasks, final submission, and interview support. This individual will work closely with business development and project management staff to develop winning strategies for major pursuits. Additional tasks will include some management of internal databases and supporting corporate marketing efforts. This role will likely require travel (~25%) for meetings, site visits, and collaboration with SMEs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Leading and/or working as part of a Team in a coordinated effort
- Overall management of proposal efforts from pre-positioning activities through interviews
- Organization of administrative efforts (responsibility matrices, templates, tracking)
- Development of proposal content
- Supporting SMEs in technical writing
- Editing and proofreading
- Collaboration with graphic design personnel to develop effective visual strategies
- Ensure the production, compliance, and quality of final submission documents are in accordance with the RFP requirements, effectively communicating all required sections, graphics, terms, and branding within the submission deadline
- Work with team to develop interview materials and support team with interview coaching
- Maintain proposal related collateral materials including project descriptions, resumes, experience lists etc.
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate management of sensitive business information
- Collaborate with marketing staff to align initiatives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- 5-7 years of experience in proposal roles, preferably with an A/E/C firm
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage time, deadlines, taking initiative and problem solving
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with understanding of standard grammar and style rules
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and application of proposal industry principles, process, concepts and practices throughout the proposal development lifecycle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience developing visual communication strategies
- Effective team player
- Expert Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat user
- Proficient Adobe InDesign and Photoshop user
- ~25% travel capability required.
