The Stadium Corporation is the operating entity of Finley Stadium Davenport Field, the First Horizon Pavilion, The Ultra Club and surrounding property. Home to Chattanooga Mocs Football and Women’s Soccer, the Chattanooga Football Club, and the Chattanooga Market, the campus hosts 500,000 visitors and over 200 events annually. Opened in 1997 as a public-private partnership, Finley Stadium has also hosted the FCS National Championship, US Soccer National Teams, TSSAA Football Championships, concerts, and numerous local and regional events. Role
Reporting to the Events and Experience Manager, the Event Operations Intern is a valuable team member, assisting the management team in all areas of operations relevant to events. This is a unique opportunity to learn from within the industry, build a network of connections, and have the opportunity to own and lead new projects and initiatives at Finley Stadium and the First Horizon Pavilion.
This is a seasonal, stipend paid position, with opportunity for college credit or continuing education. This position will start in the Summer 2025 and conclude in mid-December 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assists as directed with events, operations, and administrative tasks.
- Coordinates with vendors for service work, event preparation, sourcing, and contract fulfillment.
- Assists Facility Crew with routine maintenance, event preparation and special projects.
- Perform site surveys and visual inspections of various venue elements to ensure event readiness.
- Identifies and seeks solutions to facility issues and collaborates with the correct departments for solutions.
- Receives specific projects to oversee from concept to completion.
- Assists in all areas of guest relations; including answering and responding to general inquiries, Lost & Found, post-event survey responses, and SkyBox owner requests.
- Helps maintain facility digital file database, including keeping up to date and accurate records of utility usage, parking revenue, waste diversion, event reports, and other Key Performance Indicators.
- Works all stadium ticketed events and special events as needed, assisting with event preparation, event coordination, and facility shutdown.
- Assists Event Managers in pre-event planning, walkthroughs, and preparation of Event-Day Checklists.
- Assist in sustainability and “zero-waste” efforts, including training, audits, research, and projects.
- Attends weekly staff meetings and event/ project specific meetings as needed.
- Attends quarterly TSC Board Meetings
- Responsible for always providing a high level of customer service.
- Update Finley’s website with upcoming events
- Create and send out a Monthly Newsletter including upcoming events, road closure times, and affected parking areas.
- Upload Jumbotron graphics
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university in relevant field or currently enrolled and completing internship for course credit, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds while twisting and/ or turning, working at heights and frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Ability to learn and utilize work management programs such as Google Workspace, WordPress, and Momentus Elite.
- Above average skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to express ideas orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish rapport with all levels of management, employees, contractors, and the public.
- Personable, Detail-oriented, Self-starter, Problem-solver, Team player, and ability to present data in consumable form.
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
