HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Program Planner, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing complex railway signaling projects and programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with customer requirements. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and external stakeholders, to drive the successful implementation of signaling systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for railway signaling projects using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate schedules across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, and Testing phases.
- Ensure proper resource allocation and sequencing of activities to avoid bottlenecks.
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier timelines into the overall program schedule.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Teams, Procurement, manufacturing partners, and construction and installation partners to align schedules and identify risks and opportunities.
- Facilitate regular progress review meetings, identifying potential delays and recommending corrective actions.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure synchronization of tasks.
- Identify schedule risks (e.g., long lead-time components, site access delays, resource conflicts) and develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform what-if scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of changes and delays.
- Track critical path activities and ensure contingency plans are in place.
- Provide weekly/monthly program status reports, including variance analysis and recovery plans.
- Maintain and submit accurate program deliverables documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
- Support claim management by documenting delays and their causes.
- Conducting a post program assessment identifying gaps or successes for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar
- 3 to 5 years of experience in planning and coordinating signaling projects within the rail industry
- 2 years of experience in construction or signaling system implementations
- Strong knowledge of signaling systems and related technologies
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar
- Proficiency in Excel (expert level)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with regulatory requirements and safety standards in rail signaling, preferred
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management principles is a plus.
