As an Electrical Propulsion Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains.

As an Electrical Propulsion Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains.
Key Activities
- Enjoy receiving direct mentorship, training and supervision from an industry expert
- Conceptual design and layout of the electrical drive systems in passenger rail vehicles (power electronics, transformer, motor, energy storage, pantograph)
- Integration of these components into our vehicles
- Technical coordination with other disciplines (software creation, installation planning, mechanical engineering, purchasing, etc.)
- Cooperation with customers and suppliers
- Calculations and simulations regarding energy consumption and trip duration of our vehicles
- Support during the initial commissioning phase of the vehicles
- Support of type tests (e.g. creation of type test specifications)
- Support and analysis of technical problems during operation
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar
- 3 - 5 years (level two) of relevant experience in railway, defense, or similar
- Knowledge of, or interest, in electrical drive technology or the rail vehicle industry
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
- Business fluent in English (German preferred)
- Experience in electrical / mechanical design
- Experience with schematic software, MS Office, PLM and ECN systems (e.g. E3, SmarTeam)
- Experience with MATLAB is a plus
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits and testing on vehicles
