As a Passenger Information Systems Engineer you will play a crucial role in the development, integration, and maintenance of passenger information systems (PIS) in rail vehicles. You will play an integral part to ensure the PIS is user-friendly, reliable, and provides real-time, accurate information to passengers, enhancing their travel experience. You will work in close collaboration with the larger engineering team to design, implement, and optimize these systems for maximum functionality and safety.
Key Activities
- System integration of communication and information systems in Stadler vehicles, fulfilling the requirements of the customer, standards and laws
- Preparation of engineering / production documents such as technical specifications, electrical diagrams and system drawings
- Support of Stadler production, commissioning and type testing
- Responsible for the control of specifications, conformance and implementation on the part of the system supplier regarding hardware, software and ordered services
- Supervision and participation in software tests of the suppliers as well as ensuring the delivery in accordance with contract and schedule
- Collaboration with customers, suppliers and approval bodies in an international environment
- Technical addition to the specialist group in the areas of software architecture, communication technology, industrial electronics development or testing
- Further development of project-independent and market-driven solution modules in cooperation with Electrical Engineering, Design and Product Management
- Interdisciplinary coordination with other departments such as Electrical and Software Engineering, Installation Planning, Purchasing, Fire Protection, Certification, etc.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology, or equivalent
- 0-2 (Level I), 2-5 (II), 5-8 (III), 8-10 (IV), 10 (Sr.) years related experience in areas such as networked communication systems
- High, technical affinity and interest to deal with different technologies and IT systems
- Experience in project management is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Desire to thrive in a team environment
- Self-motivated attitude with strong initiative
- Able to be flexible with travel and work hours
- Must be fluent in English (both verbal and written). German is a plus!
