- Design and develop manufacturing processes for existing heavy manufacturing line, implement engineering changes and enhancements, and related tooling and fixtures modifications
- Perform/manage validations on critical testing equipment and processes as well as support in creating test protocols in collaboration with quality control, engineering and project management
- Prepare production friendly and accessible work instructions, continuously optimizing the process until quality and time parameters are met/exceeded
- Improve manufacturing process instructions, production flow, assembly methods, facility layout, finished product quality, in-process and time-sensitive quality checks, and safety adherence for both current and new platforms
- Support prototype and pilot production at SLC of new projects, engineering changes, and enhancements in coordination with the production/logistics/engineering functions
- Coordinate with site leadership, facilities, outside service providers and other subject-matter-experts to ensure reliability and performance of process equipment to deliver wagons to subsequent stages of assembly/testing/inspection
- Work with engineering and design development to ensure that changes under development are optimally manufacturable/production friendly and to resolve manufacturing issues for future platform/projects. Develop sustainable processes for new platform roll-out
- Complete accurate and timely manufacturing documentation including manufacturing procedures, materials records, validations, test reports, work instructions, etc.
- Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, with a long-term vision on facility expansion, team development, and enhancing core competencies
- Steer the organization toward lean manufacturing principles, adapt existing processes to reduce and eventually eliminate waste in all its forms
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with production standards and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production engineering or a related field
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in Catia/Solid Works, Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
- Experience with project management is a plus.
