A Material Handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. If you are an experienced forklift driver who wants to be part of a team that builds high quality, state of the art passenger trains, this is your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks, using pallet jacks and forklifts as needed
- Ensure all raw materials are labeled and dated properly, Entering daily transactions in the related software
- Track all orders and dispatch priority orders first, while keeping stock inventory updated
- Scan the material manually while stocking and notify supervisor immediately of any missing materials
- Support distribution by timely picking, wrapping, packing and loading of ordered material for clients
- Assemble crates for loading, using hand tools if needed, including installation, bracing, padding and strapping, and loading materials in the vehicle to ensure safe and secure dispatching of ordered material
- Maintain the workplace and warehouse in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
- Evaluate all goods received with purchase orders and monitor physical count of all inventory and shipping charges
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- 1 years’ inventory management experience, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift loads of 60-100 pounds
- Current and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate
- Able to work occasional weekends, holidays and evenings
