As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains.
Key Activities
- Accelerate your learning by receiving direct training and supervision from an industry expert
- Create train running simulations for different trains from the Stadler portfolio with Locsim
- Optimize the power split between the different energy sources on a train (diesel engine or fuel cell and batteries) using MATLAB
- Analyze current fleet operations in-service with the help of Stadler's proprietary Remote Diagnostic tool
- Analyze standards and support design efforts based on the requirements of American Railway Standards
- Support the team in their daily work
- Support and analysis of technical problems during train operation
- Current Junior- or Senior-level student in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with schematic software and MS Office is a strong plus
- Strong interest in the railway industry
- Knowledge of, or interest in electrical systems for the rail vehicle industry
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
- Fluent in English, any German ability is a plus
