Maintenance Technician

Location: Alexandria City, VA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with at least 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in responding to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Attends meetings (e.g. workshops, in-service, etc.) to convey and/or receive information.
• Coordinates with assigned lead and/or supervisor and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
• Maintains equipment to ensure the availability of items in safe operating condition.
• Prepares documentation (e.g. completed work orders) to provide written support and/or conveying information.
• Assist offices during snow details (e.g. shoveling, snow blower, salting sidewalk, etc.).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including mechanical components.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system performance checks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate issues and solutions to clients.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical, equipment, and system installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and control system failures.
• Excellent Driving Record with a Valid Virginia State Drivers License (Class C)
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation (however work truck is provided).
