What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Pathologist position at Staff Icons?
We are seeking a full-time board certified Associate Director for Clinical Pathology.The candidate will assist the Department Director and Chief of Clinical Pathology to oversee all aspects of clinical, and technical, aspects of clinical laboratory operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of CAP, NY State Department of Health, and other applicable regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of clinical medicine, laboratory science, Lab informatics, regulatory agency and accrediting body rules and requirements as well as general laboratory operations. Fellowship training or expertise in one or more of the following areas will be a plus : Hematopathology, Molecular pathology, or Clinical Chemistry. Candidate will also support institutional academic and scholarly missions, and participate in providing education and training of students, residents, and staff. The candidate will join an academic department, which has a strong and diverse faculty, an ACGME accredited residency program, and supportive atmosphere for practicing clinical pathology. Qualification / Requirements :
- Candidates must have an M.D, or M.D. / Ph.D (or foreign equivalent degree)
- Possession / eligibility for an unrestricted medical license to practice in New York State
- Possession / eligibility to obtain appropriate Certificates of Qualification (CoQ) for Medical Directorship in New York State.
- Board certification in combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, or in Clinical Pathology.
- Additional Certification / expertise in Hematopathology, Molecular Pathology, or Clinical Chemistry, is a plus
- Experience or expertise in any Lab leadership or management role is preferred
