This job was posted by : For more information, please see : The Dayroom Specialist maintains a positive and welcoming dayroom environment for guests, volunteers and visitors. This position is key in the engagement and welcoming of homeless guests entering the facility.Responsibilities range from checking in guests, monitoring activities in the dayroom, managing guests\' behaviors, and interacting with case management and kitchen staff.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health, domestic violence, human trafficking, and physical challenges. Strong skills related to being trauma informed, and ability to use de-escalation tactics are required to be successful in this role. The candidate must have strong work ethics and attendance, be professional, detail oriented, ability to multi task, computer proficient, and comfortable working with the homeless population. The candidate must adhere to the policies and procedure plus the guidelines and rules set forth to ensure that we are promoting the highest level of positive interactions with the guests.High School Diploma required, Associates Degree (preferred). Experience with homeless, addiction and / or mental health will be beneficial.Mental health and substance abuse services experience preferred.
