OUTREACH SPECIALIST
Job Duties :
- Participate in outreach strategies to identify and serve affected individuals, groups, and the community
- Provide emotional support, to include assistance with identifying coping skills and stress management techniques
- Provide educational information and resources
- Assist with development and implementation of psycho-educational and / or support groups
- Assess, refer, and link individuals or families to additional disaster relief services including behavioral health services as needed
- Participate in activities to build positive relationships with community resource organizations, faith-based groups and other local agencies
- Assist with distributing educational material to disaster affected areas
- Attend scheduled meetings with team
Skills :
Able to complete tasks independently and will seek supervision when needed
Status : Part time, non-exempt, (Flexible schedule).
Location : Community-Based.
Education : High School Diploma. While a behavioral healthcare professional license is not required, individual must demonstrate a general understanding of the basic tenants of disaster behavior health and crisis interventions and techniques.
