Job Summary:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst Data Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining data models and pipelines to support enterprise reporting and analytics. This role involves working with various data integration tools, statistical analysis software, and business intelligence platforms to transform raw data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have experience in data engineering, business systems analysis, and report generation, with a strong focus on ETL processes, SQL, Power BI, and data migration strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, construct, maintain, and enhance data pipelines supporting business intelligence and reporting systems.
- Review and analyze existing scripts and reports, ensuring data accuracy and performance optimization.
- Manage the migration of legacy statistical analysis software to a modern analytics platform, including tool evaluation and recommendation.
- Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and metadata management processes to support data warehouse and analytics initiatives.
- Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements, translating business needs into functional specifications.
- Build and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training related to data extraction, transformation, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and business users, to ensure seamless data integration.
- Develop Power BI reports and dashboards, redesigning legacy reports where necessary.
- Document data processes, workflows, and technical specifications for future reference.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and data pipeline development.
- Strong expertise in SQL for querying, data transformation, and optimization.
- Experience using Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, or equivalent).
- Experience with data warehousing solutions and designing scalable data architectures.
- Familiarity with SAS or similar statistical analysis tools and experience in migrating legacy reporting tools to modern platforms.
- Strong understanding of data classification, security, and governance best practices.
- Experience documenting business and functional requirements, including project charters, test plans, and system specifications.
- Ability to assess and evaluate business needs, proposing data-driven solutions to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
