Junior Laboratory Equipment Engineer

Job Title: GMP Equipment Support Engineer – Laboratory & Manufacturing (Junior Level)

Location: 100% Onsite – Warren, NJ

Contract: Long-term Contract

Purpose & Scope:

Seeking a Junior Equipment Engineer to support laboratory and clinical manufacturing operations. The role focuses on calibration, maintenance, validation, and repair of lab and manufacturing equipment in a cGMP environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and performance verification of lab equipment (centrifuges, incubators, freezers, cryotanks, etc.)
• Supervise and review vendor-performed services
• Update CMMS systems (Blue Mountain RAM / Maximo)
• Author and revise SOPs, Work Plans, and change controls
• Troubleshoot equipment issues including on-call support during weekends
• Own and support deviations, CAPAs, and investigations
• Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with cGMP and ALCOA standards

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering or related scientific discipline (preferred)
• 3 years of experience in FDA-regulated industry
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment calibration/maintenance
• Familiarity with CMMS, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP, and ALCOA principles
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in lab/manufacturing environments
