A leading global automotive supplier is seeking a resilient, agile, and results-driven Sales Account Manager (SAM) to manage the revenue and profitability of key customer accounts. The SAM will collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management teams to develop strategies that maximize the profitability of existing business while fostering growth opportunities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a positive attitude to take the lead in business pursuits, quotations, and improving the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the business professionally and positively.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance profitability and drive growth, leveraging input from cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers through a structured customer interface strategy.
- Lead business acquisition plans and ensure successful implementation.
- Monitor market dynamics, including customer and competitor developments, and share insights with the sales team.
- Own the total customer experience by tracking key performance metrics and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee program launch activities to ensure change management aligns with profitability goals.
- Manage sales and commercial responsibilities, including RFQs, contract negotiations, engineering changes, customer-owned tooling documentation, portal management, and VA/VE initiatives.
- Develop sales forecasts and analyze market trends for reporting purposes.
- Coordinate globally on customer issues when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or a technical field (preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry; prior experience with General Motors is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel, including internationally (up to 20%).
