Job Description :
The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that drive brand awareness, promote events and services, and enhance the association’s public image. This position collaborates with internal and external colleagues to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all channels.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategy Development :
Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with association goals.
Collaborate with leadership to establish clear messaging and positioning for events, services, and brand initiatives.
Set and manage budgets for marketing and communications activities.
2. Brand Management :
Oversee and protect the association’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all communications.
Ensure all marketing materials, digital content, and public communications align with the brand’s voice and values.
3. Digital Marketing :
Lead digital marketing initiatives including social media, email campaigns, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website development, and online advertising.
Analyze data from digital campaigns and platforms to track performance and optimize strategies.
4. Content Creation and Management :
Oversee the creation of compelling content for marketing collateral, websites, press releases, blogs, newsletters, and social media.
Ensure content is engaging, relevant, and tailored to target audiences.
5. Public Relations & Media Relations :
Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
Develop and execute public relations campaigns, including press releases, media interviews, and crisis communications.
Monitor and manage the organization’s public image and reputation.
6. Event Planning :
Coordinate and manage communications campaigns for events, such as conferences, education activities, partnership or initiative launches, and media briefings.
Ensure event marketing strategies align with broader communications goals.
7. Performance Analysis :
Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communications campaigns.
Provide regular reports and insights to leadership on campaign performance, audience engagement, and ROI.
8. Collaboration :
Work closely with other departments to ensure marketing and communication efforts are aligned with overall business objectives.
Serve as the central point of contact for internal communications, ensuring staff is informed and aligned with organizational updates.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
4 years of experience in marketing and communications
Proven track record of creating successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
