Occupational Therapist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist for a 13 week contract in South Hill, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patients' needs and developing personalized treatment plans to enhance their ability to perform daily activities. This role requires a strong understanding of various therapeutic techniques and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in an inpatient, rehabilitation facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective case management and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies for daily living activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and participate in ongoing professional development.

Experience

• A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Previous experience in home health, outpatient therapy, acute care, and geriatrics.
• Strong knowledge of physiology and therapeutic techniques relevant to occupational therapy practice is essential.
• Experience in discharge planning and case management will be considered a valuable asset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment are necessary for success in this role.
