Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. This role is crucial in delivering comprehensive nursing services to patients recovering from surgery or managing acute medical conditions.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, including triage of urgent cases.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist with specimen collection processing and ensure accurate documentation in the Epic system.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding home community care post-discharge.
- Participate in the management of patients in a Level I Trauma Center setting, including gastric lavage when necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols.
Experience
Candidates should have:
- A valid Registered Nurse license with experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred.
- Familiarity with ER procedures and senior care practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in specimen collection processing and the use of electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
