Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level II Trauma Center and possess a strong background in trauma medicine. This role requires the ability to provide high-quality care to patients of all ages, including toddlers, in a fast-paced environment. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with various medical emergencies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including gastric lavage and ostomy care.
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, home care instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in emergency nursing.
Skills
- Proficient in inpatient care procedures and trauma medicine techniques.
- Experience with pediatric intensive care (PICU) is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems and standards for emergency nursing practices.
- Ability to perform complex tasks under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of home care practices related to post-emergency recovery is an asset.
