Service Technician Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Hybrid Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assemble and rebuild machinery, support engineering and provide technical support with arising equipment problems. Most work is on‑site in Columbus or at our customers’ performing installations, however travel may be necessary up to 50% of the time and is seasonally based on business requirements.

- $26-$28 based on experience

- 1st shift
- 8:00am-4:30pm
- Monday-Friday
Service Technician Duties
- Build and/or rebuild and assemble mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts and assemblies and machinery.
- Troubleshoot assemblies and equipment using a solid working knowledge of software programs, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic circuits.
- Ability to use established processes to understand the requirements within engineering blueprints, BOM’s, manuals, and instructions.
- Self-starter who can recommend any changes to parts needed for form, fit and functioning.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s & Servo applications.
- Assist Engineering with prototyping and experiments.
- Ability to make or suggest innovations to improve or speed the assembly process.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes
Service Technician Requirements
- Two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, BOM’s and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Have on-the-job personally owned hand tools to perform work.
- Testing may be required.
Service Technician Work Environment
- Working within an industrial factory, dairy, production or laboratory facility while utilizing the required safety, PPE and GMP equipment within the work environment.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stretch and lift 50 lbs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery and mechanical parts where proper safety and PPE is required.
- Exposed often to electrical circuits where the proper PPE is required to prevent the risk of electrical shock.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 5x8
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
