What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Specialist position at Staffinders, Inc.?
An every growing 3rd Party Logistics Company is seeking a pair of Warehouse Specialists to assist the Warehouse Manager to ensure customer needs are met on assigned shift. The specialist will provide efficient, courteous customer service; serve as liaison between customers, suppliers, and warehouse personnel; and maintain records, prepare required reports, and perform related typing/work processing and clerical duties.
Warehouse Specialist Hours: 6AM to 6PM (Monday through Friday)
Warehouse Specialist Pay: $20/hr starting wage
This person will act as a direct contact with incoming drivers, spotters, and forklift operators. They will need to update and maintain warehouse management systems and yard management software as needed. Besides verifying counts of incoming products, making necessary adjustments on paperwork, and initial any changes, this role will participate in corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement projects.
This position may require employee to operate a forklift from time to time, which will include the following:
- Daily forklift inspection. Check for damage or problems and report them to your supervisor.
- Lock out / tag out unsafe or inoperable equipment.
- Load, unload, and place product in proper storage bay stacked straight and neat.
- Report immediately all incidents occurring on the forklift
- Accurately input information as trained with scanner, documenting all functions performed.
- Change propane tanks properly and safely as needed.
- Reference Forklift Operator job description for additional duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of company procedures, Industrial Truck Operational procedures, WMS system, and KOS system.
- Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating system.
- Ability to use warehouse management system to process incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Basic data entry and/or word processing skills. Experience with Excel.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with supervision.
- Ability to stoop, push, pull, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly.
Additional Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must obtain Industrial Truck Certification through in house training if operating forklift.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested by Supervisor.
- PPE as required by each facility – refer to handbook for specific requirements.
