Schedule & Pay Rate
- 7am-7pm Day Shift
- 7pm-7am Night Shift
- Hourly rate $18-$20 depending on shift
Job Overview
The role of an Operator is to work closely with the Packers, Quality Control and Supervision to ensure that the product being packed and meets the specification standards expected by customers. The Operator assists with the troubleshooting and correction of product defects, while still focusing on the efficiency of the machine throughput. The Operator also assists with both the organization of personnel and working environment, and assists the Material Handler as needed.
Job Functions and Required Skills
- Good communication interaction with other shifts and team members
- Attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using basic leadership skills
- Maintain safe, clean working environment
- Ability to read/use measuring devices such as tape measures and dial calipers, as well as perform basic math calculations
- Maintain required written production reports
- Ability to identify all common defects associated with product production (burn, color, bow, wave, vacuum, impact, contamination, scratch lines, streaks, sink and gloss)
- Perform required machine maintenance and product inspections
- Ability to operate various equipment, such as a sawzall, chop saw, pressurized air tools, hand strappers, wood saw, razor knife, torch, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for 8 to 12 hour shifts, as schedule demands
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with repetition, and on occasion up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to move parts from one location to another, as needed
- Ability to work 12 hours per day and 42 hours per week, as scheduled
- Ability to perform packing/banding, as needed
