Role Overview
Individuals in this role are responsible for providing excellent customer service by answering telephone calls and responding to patient emails. The rep should be able to answer routine questions about a patient's account balance, take credit card payments, and set up payment plans within company established guidelines.
Qualifications
High School graduate or GED equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical or Insurance field
Possess outstanding customer service, communication and problem-solving skills
Essential Duties :
The following describes the essential duties of this role. Individuals in this role may not perform all of these duties, or may perform additional or unrelated duties
- Answer incoming phone calls, return voicemail messages, and respond to billing inbox inquiries
- Process credit card payments and set up payment plans when applicable
- Troubleshoot, research and resolve patient inquiries
- Review patient statements for discrepancies prior to sending to patients
- Process bankruptcies and all returned mail
- Take attorney calls and review patient account
- Call patients with bad debt balances who wish to schedule an appointment
- Make outgoing collection calls for past due balances
- Meets department production standards consistently as defined by the department management
- perform all duties respectful of confidentiality and safety of all patients, employees, and providers
- Requires working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rules compliance
