Job Summary
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide critical care services to patients on medical floors, adult critical care units, and emergency departments. Your duties will include administering breathing treatments, mobilizing respiratory secretions, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Breathing Treatments: Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Secretion Mobilization: Use various techniques to clear mucus and debris from patient airways.
- Non-Invasive and Invasive Ventilation: Assist with the setup and management of ventilators, including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation: Respond to code blue situations and perform CPR according to hospital protocols.
- Intubation Assistance: Collaborate with anesthesia teams to secure airways in critically ill patients.
- Blood Gas Analysis: Collect and analyze arterial blood samples to assess patient oxygenation and ventilation status.
- EKG Obtaining: Perform electrocardiograms to monitor patient cardiac rhythm and function.
