Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, sterilizing, and maintenance of medical instruments and equipment used in surgical and clinical settings. The role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety by preventing infections through the proper sterilization and handling of instruments and supplies. Key Responsibilities : Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments, surgical tools, and equipment according to established protocols and infection control standards. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring that all items are in proper working order before sterilization. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, and ensure equipment is functioning properly and calibrated regularly. Package, label, and organize sterilized instruments, ensuring they are ready for use in surgery or medical procedures. Prepare instrument trays and sets, ensuring that all necessary items are included and correctly arranged for upcoming surgical or clinical procedures. Maintain inventory of sterilized equipment and supplies, ensuring stock levels are sufficient and ordering new supplies when necessary. Adhere to strict infection control guidelines, ensuring all equipment and tools are sterilized and stored in a sterile environment. Keep accurate records of sterilization procedures, including tracking items sterilized, sterilization dates, and expiration dates. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including the safe handling of chemicals used in cleaning and sterilizing processes.
