Warehouse Forklift Driver

Staffing Network is seeking a temporary forklift operator for a container warehouse in Antioch, CA! The forklift operator will essentially Pick up and transfers loads of material in production and warehouse departments. 

Payrate for Forklift Operator:

$20/hour

*MUST HAVE SHIFT FLEXIBILITY as client assigns shifts to cover permanent employees!

Job duties and responsibilities:
– Inspects truck at the start of shift and documents items noted for repair. Checks all fluid 
levels at the same time and refills fluids as needed. Keeps truck clean. **
– Drives backwards as much as possible. Always drives backwards when handling bundles of 
plate. **
– Sounds horn at all intersections or doorways. Comes to complete stop at places where stop 
signs are posted.
– Reports all damage to product, building, etc. immediately to the supervisor. 
– Checks with warehouseman for truck loading instructions as required.
– Loads truck utilizing proper loading pattern. Accomplishes loader's tally as required. 
– Maintains good housekeeping in the department and in the work area at all times.
– Services palletizer with empty pallets, divider sheets, and picture frames. Inspects empty 
pallets individually before inserting them into pallet dispenser. Removes broken pallets from 
production area and places them in designated area. 
– Cleans equipment during downtime, changeovers, or during maintenance when equipment is 
not running.
– Sweeps and mops floor as required. (II) Observes all rules of safety. 
– Relieves other employees for required break and lunch periods as required.
– Unloads trucks as needed and places unloaded material in the proper storage area. 
– Services warehouse bander if required- removes jams in bander, changes rolls of banding, 
etc.
– Bands pallets of ends from DRT as required. Provides DRT with necessary supplies.
– Removes, dumps, and returns scrap containers from all assigned areas as required. 
– Perform other duties as required by the shift supervisor.
– Hazardous waste: Container and tanks inspections Labeling of waste tanks or drums 
Storage of hazardous waste
– Spill reporting and response / Response to spills and ground waste contamination
– Response to fires, explosions
– Have knowledge of hazardous waste contingency plan.
