General Summary
The Estimator is responsible for all aspects of electrical estimating for the division office. This includes analyzing blueprints, preparing proposals, consulting with clients, estimating costs, and assisting in creating budgets.

Perform all aspects of electrical estimating, including bill of materials (BOMs), takeoffs, RFIs, and proposal writing.Assist the senior estimator in coordinating and streamlining bid processes.Analyze blueprints and documentation to determine project costs.Assess the cost-effectiveness of products and services, tracking actual costs versus bids.Consult with clients, vendors, and construction personnel to formulate estimates and resolve issues.Confer with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors regarding cost adjustments.Prepare estimates for management planning, organizing, and scheduling work.Maintain and update supplier, contractor, and subcontractor directories.Establish and oversee tendering processes and conduct negotiations.Review estimates with division managers and project teams post-award.Assist in developing budgets and schedules post-project award.Position Requirements
License : Valid state driver's license.Education : High School Diploma or GED (Post-Secondary Certificate Preferred).Experience : Minimum of 5 years in industrial or commercial electrical construction.Working Conditions
Exposure to all weather conditions, depending on project location.Ability to transport and relocate ladders and personal tools.Work at various heights (up to 90 feet) from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.Work in confined spaces such as switchgear rooms, manholes, and crawl spaces.Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Ability to work 40 hours per week, including overtime and possible night shifts.Physical / Mental Requirements
Ability to accurately identify colors of wires and electrical components.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maps, and manuals.Strong comprehension and practice of workplace safety.Operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.Tolerant of prolonged standing and movement on foot.Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers in a repetitive motion.
