Role Description
As the Application Development Manager, you will design, implement, and support both vendor-packaged and custom solutions that enhance the core banking platform and other enterprise applications. In this role, you will lead a team of core developers while collaborating with business units to deliver innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a core development team across scrum teams and business lines, fostering a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and innovation.
- Partner with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) on team delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive the implementation of software development best practices, including design patterns, code reviews, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with external vendors on integrated solutions while staying current with strategic roadmaps.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of business solutions that optimize operational efficiency through technology.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience with financial institution technologies, such as Jack Henry, Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU, MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, or OpCon.
- Proven experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
- Strong leadership and people management experience, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring.
- Experience influencing executive leadership.
- Solid understanding of agile and iterative project management methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen development.
- Knowledge of IBM's AIX operating system.
- SQL, HTML, and JavaScript development experience.
- ITIL framework knowledge and experience.
