About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-level Vulnerability & Patch Management Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC . This role is a critical, high-visibility position supporting a government contract at the Pentagon . The selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance, security, and operational integrity of Windows and Linux systems through patching, configuration, and troubleshooting in a complex, multi-layered network environment.
As part of this role, you will work closely with technical leads and customers , implementing cybersecurity controls, IT infrastructure management, and resource monitoring . If you are a detail-oriented engineer with expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) / SCCM , vulnerability remediation, and compliance, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems to meet compliance requirements.
- Install, configure, and tune operating systems, third-party applications, and security patches .
- Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and databases in a multi-layered network .
- Implement cybersecurity controls , manage IT infrastructure, and set up resource monitoring and alerting .
- Work with Storage Area Networks (SAN), enterprise backup solutions, and fault-tolerant technologies .
- Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, Perl, etc.) for patching and system management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, technical leads, and end-users to define remediation plans and compliance strategies .
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
