Job Title: Senior Resident Engineer

The Senior Resident Engineer will lead field inspection staff and service consultants, ensuring projects are constructed in compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and client expectations.
This role serves as the primary interface between the owner, contractor, engineer of record, and regulatory representatives.
Project Coordination & Oversight
Maintain accurate project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
Evaluate contractor cost proposals and develop preliminary cost estimates.
Field Inspection & Documentation
Conduct daily reviews of project documentation, including inspections, reports, photos, and material deliveries.
Maintain accurate field records, such as daily logs, test reports, and as-built drawings.
Identify trends and potential risks impacting construction progress or change management issues.
Risk & Safety Management
Identify and mitigate potential claims and risks arising from contractor activities.
Ensure compliance with safe work practices and company policies.
Community & Stakeholder Relations
Serve as the primary project interface with the local community.
Proactively coordinate contractor activities to align with community needs.
Attend local industry networking events to strengthen relationships and business development.
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
~10 years of experience in construction, inspection, or operations.
~Prior experience in municipal water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and tunnels.
~Strong understanding of quality control programs and regulatory compliance.
~Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and union labor agreements.
~Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and financials.
~Proficiency with data management software.
Experience with medium/high voltage electrical, instrumentation, and controls on wastewater treatment plants.
CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required, but candidates willing to obtain certification within 18 months will also be considered.
Proficiency with Primavera P6 / Microsoft Project.
