What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scheduler position at Staffing Now?
SNI Companies is working with a large Medical Practice who is looking for a Scheduler in Mercer County, NJ. This a great role for anyone who is looking to get into the medical field, has a willingness to learn, and can build a good rapport with customers.
Job Duties Include :
- Expedites patient care by scheduling patients' appointments accurately and efficiently.
- Answers 50 telephone calls in the scheduling queue daily.
- Supports Lead in achieving departmental standard for wait times, work times, and abandonment rate.
- Verifies insurance contract requirements when scheduling exams and reminds the patient of these requirements.
- Verifies all patient demographic information.
- Accurately schedules exams for the proper modality, time, machine, and Radiologist.
- Effectively explains preps (actions a patient must take for a proper exam) to the patient, using terms the patient can understand.
- Verifies patient understands all prep instructions.
- Provides back up to Scheduling clerical support responsibilities, such as clearing right fax and batching scripts into system, verifying out-going faxes are successful and calling offices when clarification is needed.
- Interfaces with Lead regarding any and all departmental concerns.
- Attends staff meetings regularly and follows all company policies and procedures.
Hours are Monday-Friday 9 : 30am-6pm and one Saturday 8am-12pm every 7-8 weeks.
