Staffing Plus is assisting a local Asphalt Company with hiring Asphalt Pavers! The right candidate for this job will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt paving equipment to ensure high-quality road construction. This role is critical in executing our mission to deliver durable and efficient paving solutions while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Operate asphalt paving machines to spread and level asphalt on roadways and other surfaces according to project specifications.
Working with a team to lay, spread, and compact asphalt to the correct depth.
Shoveling/raking asphalt, sealing parking lots, and pressure washing.
Monitor the quality of materials and work performed to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on paving equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Collaborate with the project team to plan and execute paving operations effectively and within project timelines.
Assist in preparing the job site, including setting up and taking down traffic control measures and other necessary equipment.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 years of experience operating asphalt paving machines in a construction environment.
Proven experience as an Asphalt Paver.
Knowledge of paving machinery and maintenance
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and for extended periods
Understanding of workplace safety regulations
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Experience with additional heavy machinery used in road construction.
Certification in construction safety or related field.
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to asphalt paving.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
Proficiency in the operation of paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, and compactors.
Understanding of basic mechanical principles related to construction machinery.
Familiarity with GPS and other technology used for precision paving.
Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on achieving project goals efficiently.
Adaptability and willingness to take on various tasks as needed in a dynamic work environment.
Starting hourly wage $17 an hour, DOE
Must be willing to consent to a drug test and background check.
Hours are 7am-7pm, Monday through Saturday, contingent on weather.
Must have heat resistant, asphalt boots. Shirt will be provided.
