A judgment Enforcement Law firm in Pasadena is looking for a specialized Paralegal/Legal Secretary to support heavy law and motion practice. The goal is to sustain the efficiency of all office procedures and case management to guarantee reliability and consistency. The firm seeks a good work ethic and is willing to train in the position's varying responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings
- Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
- Draft and review legal documents (needs to be detailed)
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Record and store client information electronically
- Able to work well with a wide variety of personalities, on the phone and in person, including court clerks, sheriff’s offices, and clients
- Able to work independently or in a team environment, supporting multiple team members
- File pleadings, including e-filing, in both in state and federal courts
Skills
- roven experience as Paralegal/Legal Secretary in law and motion (drafting pleadings, including declarations & propounding discovery) Post Judgment experience is a plus
- Knowledge of constitution, legal terminology, regulations, and court system
- Knowledge of MS Office, Adobe, and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, cloud-based software, etc.)
- Outstanding time-management and typing skills (60 wpm)
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Legal Secretary/Paralegal certification or diploma is a plus
- Deadline and detail-oriented
