They utilize a range of novel technologies and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations to overcome drug development challenges for both small and large molecules, including complex granulations, spray-dried dispersions, hot melt extrudates, IR and MR tablet technologies, multiarticulate, and engineered particles inhalation.
The Head of Commercial Operations is responsible for the development, implementation, and daily management of commercial manufacturing operations to meet the future needs of commercial business. Ideal candidates will have direct experience with cGMP manufacturing capabilities, which include spray drying, hot melt extrusion, blending, milling, granulation, encapsulation, tablet compression, tablet coating, and clinical packaging and labeling. The selected candidate will be part of the team that develops value proposition, offerings, and pricing strategy, while strengthening client relationships. This role will work with the sales and Business Development team in the acquisition of new and existing business. This position will also be responsible for leading and managing the commercial operations team inclusive of technical transfers, project proposals, commercial analysis, and commercial development. Ideal candidates will demonstrate direct experience with commercial facility operations, successful leadership roles, and business acumen to advance the mission and values of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees workflow of the commercial operations teams
- Develops personnel to ensure functionality across teams, high performance, and talent retention
- Integrates with the senior management team to develop personnel and organizational effectiveness
- Directs daily operations at Commercial Manufacturing Facility
- Ensures client projects are delivered on-time and executed to full compliance with global regulatory requirements and client agreements
- Manages the introduction of new commercial projects
- Acts as commercial representative for key customer relationships
- Leads execution of commercial and business strategy in development and manufacturing
- Provides commercial input for facility and capital improvements, including the construction of a greenfield commercial facility
- Ensures that the health, safety, and environmental impact policies of the sites are being successfully implemented
- Provides strategic input to support business model and company growth
- Supports customer site visits to facilitate onboarding of new customers and to maintain strong customer relationships
- Develops and implements metrics for consistent improvement of Commercial Operations and compliance
- Optimizes processes to reduce manufacturing costs and maximize cGMP production throughput
- Represents commercial team during budget planning meetings
- Responsible for management of pipeline / portfolio and delivery of products
- Manges the manufacturing operations technical team and production teams
- Meets frequently with quality, project management, and executive management teams
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Technical depth, including drug substance, drug product, and understanding of materials characteristics

- BS in Life Science or Engineering discipline required, MS or Ph.D. preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in CDMO/CMO Commercial Operations
- Preference given to those with direct experience in development and manufacturing of spray drying technologies
- Extensive knowledge of multiple technologies (Drug Substance, Drug Product, Development, and manufacturing service lines)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- National and international travel required
- Adheres to consistent and predictable in-person attendance
