Registered Nurse Oncology
Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour

Position Overview: If you are a Registered Nurse with Oncology/Hematology experience who has also performed the mixing of infusion/chemo medications, this position may be for you! This a Full-Time opening for a Oncology/Chemo Registered Nurse in our Zephyrhills Oncology Department (also may be needed in the Land O' Lakes office). The role is responsible for providing specialized Oncology nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. Experience in a Hematology and Medical Oncology office highly preferred. Chemo certification preferred.

Keys to Success in this Role:
- Prepare and mix infusion medications following OSHA and manufacturer package guidelines
- Administer chemotherapy doses for accuracy, verification of '5 rights'
- Perform intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous injections to include administration of diagnostic agents and medications
- Educate patients and families about cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options
- Provide consultation and information on continuity of care, complex treatment modalities, and additional health and social services available to the patient
- Perform complex nursing procedures and prescribed medical treatments
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique and practice
- Enter charges for services performed in the Infusion Center
- Perform incidental and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current Active Florida RN license
- Registered Nurse w/Oncology & Chemo Certification required
- Current BLS Certification
- Strong customer service orientation
- Heightened sensitivity to patient s physical and psychological needs
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Hematology and Medical Oncology highly preferred
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification preferred
