Location: Onsite in Huntsville, AL
Salary: $29.70/hr

Precision Aerospace Assembler

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of manufacturing, production, or precision manufacturing experience
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Micro-tack or spot welding experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks without error
- Must possess basic computer aptitude
- Must be able to read and understand basic production drawings.
- Prior experience with precision measuring equipment is preferred.
- Perform welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation.
- Determine layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
- Join metal parts to form a permanent bond.
- Weld metal components and parts using standard specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches and may also utilize friction stir welding (FSW) methods using solid-state joining.
- Use electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals.
- Observe tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
- Set up and operate large, motion-controlled machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles.
- Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches.
- Additional duties as assigned.
