About the Opportunity:
In the Quality and Safety Specialist role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our growing Key Accounts Businesses, providing expertise in food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer formula project management. The ideal candidate for this role must have a comprehensive understanding of FDA food regulations, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, and other relevant food safety requirements, ensuring our products meet the highest safety and compliance standards. Due to the hands-on nature of this role, in-office attendance at our manufacturing sites is essential. This role will report to the Sr. Quality Assurance Director.

What You ll Do:
- Key Accounts Business Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for Key account business clients, addressing their food safety and regulatory needs.
- Maintain and upload quality and regulatory information to our Key accounts web portals and platforms.
- Review and validate custom labels and packaging for customer-specific projects.
- Provide expert support for technical inquiries related to the client's products, formulations, and marketing claims.
- Assist in scheduling and conducting Key customer audits.
- Assist in communicating and ensuring customer-specific requirements for finished products are met and samples are submitted for testing
- Address Key customer complaints by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all Key account custom products meet FDA regulations, GFSI standards, and other relevant industry requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Assist with internal customer-related complaints and inquiries on technical and regulatory matters.
- Verify that formulas and ingredients comply with applicable country-specific regulations for both the US and Canada.
- Key Customer Project Management:
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to ensure timely project completion and specific customer needs.
- Traveling to client's North America s manufacturing sites will be required.
- Support custom product development ensuring client's ingredients comply with customer requirements as well as country-specific regulations for both the US and Canada as applicable.
- Serve as a liaison between client and regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues, answer questions, or engage in advocacy efforts related to regulatory changes.
- Bachelor s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety, regulatory compliance, or Key Accounts business technical support.
- In-depth knowledge of FDA food regulations, GFSI standards, and other food safety protocols.
- Strong management skills with experience handling customer-specific projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
