Operations Engineer, Patient Safety
We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional responsible for defining the scope, design, implementation, control, and validation of initiative outcomes to target patient safety, quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and financial benefits for multiple VIP Process Improvement (PI) initiatives, including facility-specific VIP initiatives at their assigned Community.
Hybrid- 2 days in office

What You Will Do
• Documentation and analysis of complex current state processes, working with diverse interdisciplinary
teams composed of 5 – 15 cross-functional subject matter experts
• Obtaining “Best Practice” benchmark research and best practice model examples
• Analyzing data to measure current process performance to best practices for the purpose of
identifying, quantifying and prioritizing PI opportunities and efforts
• Strategic design and development of metrics that measure newly implemented processes to evaluate
and validate initiative success to include patient safety, quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and
financial benefit
• Advice and guidance for VIP teams in creating measures of financial benefit and coordinating dollar
value validation process with UH Corporate Division of Finance, and facility Finance Managers to
determine benefit outcomes versus targets
• Ensuring that VIP initiative and finance leads report financial results within prescribed deadlines
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advocate for Lean Six Sigma principles throughout the organization.
• Maintains expertise in project disciplines (e.g., DMAIC, Lean, A3, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TOPS and PDCA)
process workflow planning, redesign, proof of concept pilot testing and full implementation.
Executive forums (VIP Executive Steering Committee, Operations Group and Community Hospital
Presidents).
Education Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) and
• Master's Degree (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
• 3 years year’s progressive experience with process redesign, system implementation, return on
investment, and organizational change initiatives. (Required) and
• 3 years year’s experience working in healthcare environment (Preferred) and
• 3 years year’s managing process
Licenses and Certifications
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI) (Preferred)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification (Preferred) and
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Preferred) and
• Clinical credentials, certifications, etc. (RN, BSN, LPN) (Preferred) and
• Organizational Change Management training (Preferred)
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
