CNA Credentialing Specialist in Augusta, ME
Description:
Support and assist in overview of Certified Nursing Assistant (“CNA”) training
Monitor CNA testing
Provide consultation for all aspects of the CNA testing process
Consult with DHHS staff regarding clinical aspects of Certified Residential Medication Aide (“CRMA”) program
Collaborate with DHHS office and external partners
Provide clinical review and assessment of testing including procedural accuracy
Consult with Maine Board of Nursing (“Board”) to ensure Board rules and requirements are met
Determine efficacy of the statewide CNA training programs
Consult with Certified Residential Medication Aide (“CRMA”) program
Provide clinical feedback regarding issues as applicable
Representative Tasks:
Provide consultation and information to CNA trainers, the Board, Division staff, and applicants re: all aspects of the testing process.
Coordinate and collaborate with DHHS Offices and external partners.
Work with the Maine Board of Nursing ("Board") to ensure testing follows the Board's rules and requirements, including conducting thorough, clinically sound, review of statewide CNA training program.
Determine the efficacy of statewide CNA training programs.
Determine appropriate certification testing materials, training classes for instructors, and curriculum.
Conduct reviews of statewide Certified Nursing Assistant ("CNA") training programs.
Provide thorough clinical review and assessment of test answers for clinical and procedural accuracy.
Provide clinical consultation to DHHS staff regarding questions related to CRMA curriculum and service system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of requirements of certification programs, state health care licensing and certification laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Knowledge of health care specialty areas including nursing and physician services, social services and dietary, laboratory and pharmacy services.
Knowledge of correct, current, nursing practices.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with sister agencies within DHHS, as well as other public and private partners.
Ability to apply critical thinking principles and processes
Ability to use applicable computer programs
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word, etc.)
Ability to resolve problems effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four (4) years in nursing education, public health, hospital or chronic disease nursing including administrative experience and a bachelor's degree in nursing OR an equivalent of eight (8) years combination of education and experience.
Must hold a current license as a Registered Professional Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
Salary : $36
