Senior Healthcare Program Specialist

Summary :
The Division of Strategic Finance and Managed Care, Office of Managed Care is recruiting to fill one Senior Healthcare Program Specialist position. The Office of Managed Care is responsible for large scale system transformation as New York State migrates from a fee-for-service system to a person-centered service system focused on recovery.
This position is integral to OMH’s Medicaid managed care oversight activities and is relied upon to assist in performing surveys of Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. A successful candidate will be able to validate survey findings, articulate conclusions, and produce summary reports. Writing and organizational skills are imperative to the functions of this position. Knowledge of behavioral health services, Medicaid, and managed care are preferred. Specific functions include but are not limited to :
Support the NYS Department of Health by organizing, coordinating and participating in routine and ad-hoc managed care oversight activities.
Monitor and evaluate Medicaid Managed Care Organizations’ compliance with behavioral health standards.
Develop and maintain Medicaid Managed Care Organization behavioral health compliance review tools.
Coordinate and foster stakeholder relationships with other NYS agencies including the Office of Addiction Services and Supports, Department of Health, Office of Children and Family Services, and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
Accept new responsibilities in response to the Office’s evolving needs.
Support the Bureau through monitoring provider and plan facing mailboxes.
Collaborate with staff from other divisions and agencies, as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience.
Candidates with experience in behavioral health or public policy with expertise in health care transformation, New York State public health insurance programs, and / or behavioral health / health care policy are encouraged to apply.
Must be a United States Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States in order to be considered.
Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
