What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutor Needed in Beverly position at Staffing Studio?
Hello Awesome Educators!
We are seeking a local elementary school teacher (North Shore, MA) or a college student with previous tutoring experience, who is available after school potentially 2-3 days per week to support our daughter's elementary education. She loves to read, but sometimes struggles expressing her comprehension and has trouble with her spelling tests. We would also like to start supporting her in her math skills as well. She is ADHD and group learning at school isn't exactly the best learning environment for her and she's starting to get down on herself, and we can't have that!
Days: Monday, Thursday and or Friday
Time: 2:30-4:30pm
Flexible on exact time, but those are our available afternoons, looking for 1-2 hour/s per day.
Requirements:
- Seeking an elementary school teacher, retired teacher or college student with tutoring experience.
- Must be local for meeting purposes, we are not seeking virtual applicants at this time.
- Must be able to assess where she is at in both reading and math and prepare materials to support her.
Nice to Haves:
- Our 9 year old fourth grader would also benefit from individual tutoring, he's able to keep up without trying very hard right now, so keeping him engaged and developing on his own path is the challenge-we'd love someone who could support both kids.
- Awareness of Adhd and autism, and how we educate those students.
- Previous experience with the local libraries for meeting purposes.
