Job Title: Concrete Laborer
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00
Shift: 1st Shift M-Th 6:00am - 3:30pm, F 6:00am - 10:00am. Overtime as needed based on business need.
Summary: As a Concrete Laborer you are a member of a collaborative and skilled team that applies and fabricates concrete components of various theme construction projects. The work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications. This role is hands-on in a theme construction company that fabricates and manufactures custom creative projects for museums, theme parks, water parks, aquariums, zoological exhibits and other unique exhibits!
Job Responsibilities:
- Smooth, finish, and shape concrete surfaces.
- Set up and operate concrete mixers, while meeting raw material codes and batch requirements.
- Spread lightweight cement mix; install anchor bolts and steel plates.
- Operate hoists, cranes, and rigging to move materials.
- Use hand tools and power tools including shovels, rakes, drills, saws, and tape measures.
- Arrange, demold, and reset concrete forms.
- Perform various general labor tasks, including cleaning tools and equipment.
- Drive a forklift (certification training provided).
- Remove hazards in the work area, wear appropriate PPE, and clean up dirt, trash, and debris.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: construction knowledge including reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and material layouts
- Preferred: One year in concrete application processes
- Combined experience and education will be considered
- Familiar with hand tools
- Preferred: forklift operation
- Strong reading comprehension, common sense, and listening skills - understanding and following instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; solid team collaboration skills
- Critical thinking skills; strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a safe manner; preferred: OSHA safety experience/training/awareness
