A national plaintiff’s law firm with a focus on public advocacy has partnered with Staffing Technologies in their search for a Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative support to attorneys and their teams, focusing on organization, calendaring, travel, and document management in preparation for litigation. We seek an organized, detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, on-site role while supporting the firm’s commitment to public advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calendaring & Scheduling: Coordinate attorney schedules, including client meetings, depositions, and court dates. Maintain updated calendars and ensure deadlines are met.
- Expense Management: Process and submit expense reports for attorneys in a timely and accurate manner.
- Travel Arrangements: Arrange travel, accommodations, and logistics for attorneys, including booking flights and hotels.
- Client File Maintenance: Organize and maintain both electronic and physical client files with attention to confidentiality and accuracy.
- Trial Preparation Support: Assist with organizing trial materials, assembling trial binders, and coordinating with attorneys for trial needs.
- Document Management: Support document preparation, management, and organization for case files and trial preparation.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including handling phone calls, correspondence, and coordinating office supplies.
Skills Desired:
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal calendaring systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members.
Preferred Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or legal department, ideally with exposure to civil litigation support.
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and trial preparation is a plus.
Compensation:
- Median pay target - $50,000
